Welcome to the historical website, Japanese Canadian Relations in the Fraser Valley. The goal of this website is to give insight into the relationship between Japanese immigrants and Canadians in the Fraser Valley, from the first Japanese immigrant in 1877 to the end of the Second World War. This site will give a brief history of the Japanese immigration into Canada, look at the general way of life of the Japanese Canadians once in the Fraser Valley, the rising tensions between the Japanese immigrants and the Canadians, the expulsion and internment of the Japanese Canadians and a brief conclusion with the lasting effects of the expulsion following the Second World War.
